To keep the structure of this modern bayfront home from overwhelming the streetscape, it was intentionally stepped back and inward, creating roof decks and atrium spaces. The architect used two contrasting porcelain tiles accented with mahogany to fulfill the client’s wishes for a limited exterior materials palette. Adjustable exterior louver systems allow privacy without blocking sunlight or bay breezes.
